Product Details
ADOX was founded in 1860 as the world's first photochemical factory. Over the next several decades, it became one of the leading film producers in Europe. Today, ADOX films, papers, and chemistry are proudly manufactured in Germany by an incredibly passionate team of film photography enthusiasts.
ADOX FX-39 II is a legendary B&W film developer based on Willi Beutler's formula for Neofin Red and further developed by Geoffrey Crawley. It is a compensating developer, providing excellent detail rendition, sharpness, and resolution. The compensating effect can be adjusted to the subject contrast and film stock by varying the dilution.
FX-39 II comes in 100 mL and 500 mL volumes of liquid concentrate. Compared to the standard 1+9 one-shot dilution, the 1+19 one-shot dilution (+75% to the developing time) increases the compensating effect, at the expense of a bit slower effective film speed. In this way it's possible to trade compensating effect for film speed in a certain range.
